The holidays are here :)

I was so excited about having holidays again I could hardly wait for Chinese New Year to come. Of course it won't be much fun spending it in penang due to the really really really hot and humid weather up there but nothing beats the food. Plus, traffic is going to be heavy driving up. Carissa and her family drove up today and it took them 7 bloody hours! They departed at 5.30 and only reached penang at about 12 something in the afternoon. That is so crazy. So it looks like I'll be hitting the books and dvds in the car tomorrow.

College has been alright lately. No full load of work YET so I still can head off shopping every wednesday with Ling. Haha. For example, on wednesday we went to midvalley and gardens and on friday we went to klcc and one utama. Sa ee finally bought her Anya Hindmarch handbag which is gorgeous by the way while mummy got her DKNY handbag as well. All ling and I could do was sit and drool over the bags. heh. However, I am scouting out for my upcoming expensive birthday present from my parents :)

We had the first taste of an exam question for law earlier this week and boy is it not easy. Not only do you have to memorise the history behind it, you have to elaborate why and how and such. Well it's actually not so bad but you need to be hardworking coz there isn't enough time during the actual exam like economics.

So anyway, remember when I had my family reunion dinner a week ago? It was at Grand Imperial, BSC and the room we were in ahd a couch. A nice comfy couch...

So it's goodbye long hair, hello short hair :)

Well it's not exactly short short but it's shorter than usual. After college today mum and I met up with ling and sa ee at ou. had lunch then walked around for a bit till it was time to leave for the hairdresser's. Ling and sa ee coloured their hair while I enviously looked on but I'm happy with my hair now. It's also time for a new manicure and pedicure which will be done either on saturday or some time next week. Plus, we still have our ladies night to go to before ling leaves for adelaide in february.

On an even brighter note, Mr Francis Dunn, my accounts lecturer, will be on leave from the 26th of January till the 3rd of February. Isn't that just peachy? :) So not I don't have to worry about missing accounts classes since the lecturer isn't going to be there. What I do have to worry about is missing law. Law is NOT easy so I can't really afford to miss many classes. Now it's up to my parents how long they want to spend CNY in penang.

ughh... I'm starting to dread tomorrow coz I've got classes from 10-7pm. Yes, I've got Moral Studies tomorrow. help me.

LAN classes are a total waste of time. People just basically enter class, take their attendance, sit right at the back of the class and talk. We were given individual assignments as well as group assignments and we have to present them in either video, sketch, dance, song or whatever else. Bear in mind this is only Malaysian Studies. I don't even know what Moral Studies is going to be like.

So anyway, I decided to post up some random pictures up :)

the very thought of having to drag myself out of bed tomorrow morning to go to class is making me want to crawl into my bed and under the covers. how I envy ling who is going to wake up early tomorrow morning. why? to watch the 66th Golden Globe Awards. me? I have to go for my law class first thing in the morning.

although it does feel like I'm still on holiday coz there's no homework, no assignments, what so ever. I could even go shopping in klcc last wednesday with ling and sa ee. oh and that was where I might add, ms ching su ling gave 2 foreign people the wrong information about where the Apple shop is at. She sent them to the top most floor when it was actually on the 3rd floor. hahahahaha. they must've been thinking: "this malaysian girl.... sent us on a wild good chase" and we would've given them a bad impression about malaysians. haha.

Yuen has bought her rihanna concert tickets and I haven't. Well I'm hoping to be able to buy the tickets tomorrow after college at Actors' Studio, BSC. On wednesday ling and I plan to cut our hair. I'm still debating whether short or to keep the length....

Thank god the weekend is here. I'm still not used to waking up early although some days I only wake up at 8 but it's still horrible to have to drag myself out of bed every morning.

On the bright side, Chinese New Year's coming! Which means ang paos, cookies, good food, lazy afternoons in penang, reunion dinners/lunches and yee sang :)

Well after college today, I came home to the warmth and comfort of my couch where I feel asleep for 2 hours. haha. Then I had to go to Dr Barry's office. While there Ling called to ask whether we wanted to watch Bedtime Stories tonight. So the four of us ate at Overseas Restaurant in Jaya 1 where the service was horrible. It took them 45 minutes just to cook the stupid fish. ughhh...

katt and I are planning to go to rihanna's concert! :D mummy thinks we should buy the sitting tickets but I want the standing tickets coz what's the fun in sitting down to rihanna's songs?? ling was lucky to have chris brown in the concert that she watched. we however are not so lucky coz he isn't making an appearance here.

I am so looking forward to a loooooongggggg sleep tonight till tomorrow afternoon :)

who knew my college timing for classes would be so flexible? :)

well, on monday I have a full day from 8-4. Tuesday I've got a break in between, Wednesday I am OFF! :D Thursday I start at 10 in the morning and friday I start at 8 till 10.

The second orientation today was mainly to tell us students about the subjects we are taking and what it's like if we were to take it. eng lit seemed really interesting and the lecturer did say that universities tend to look at your application a little more closely if you have eng lit as a subject but I don't think I would be able to handle it as I didn't take lit for SPM. oh well, I guess I just have to strive harder for my other subjects.

So after the orientation katt, jas, rach, sp, yee keat, quang, hwee yin and I went for lunch at Subway. We got a little taste of what we were going to have to eat for the next 1 and a half years. Later I finally got my student id done (I look horrible btw, stupid webcam) and then registered for my LAN subjects. ughhh... I don't understand why we still have to do malaysian studies AND moral studies.

At 5 I had an appointment with Dr Barry. Apparently I have an imbalanced spine, tailbone and pelvis... great. So now I have to go see him for adjustments twice a week and then do lots of exercises to strengthen my back. I feel like an old lady and I'm only 17 years old. I can just imagine myself crawling or flat on the ground when i'm 60. Ling, you'd better take care of me :p

When 2009 approached, I started thinking of some possible resolutions for the new year. For example:

- start studying from the beginning (yeah right... was the same thing I said in the beginning of form 5)

Let's just say after that thought I gave up on all other potential resolutions :)

Ling and I ushered in the new year with pretty fingernails which came at a big price of not being able to do lots of things without having to constantly check whether our nails were scratched. We later had dinner at Rakuzen and then home. We somehow managed to miss the countdown because:

1. Ling couldn't pop the poppers
2. Mummy couldn't light the candles on the cake
3. I didn't hear the tv go: "3... 2... 1!"

It was fun though and then I subjected myself to my name being called out repeatedly every few seconds *ahem!* :)

January the 2nd was gee-ee's birthday. We had a surprise dinner for her at Grand Imperial, Bangsar Shopping Center. So we got there at around 7.20pm with some time to spare before gee-ee and gee tiao arrived so ling and I headed downstairs to get gee-ee a present. Just as we thought gee-ee was coming, ling and I quickly hid behind the chairs. Turns out she was going to take longer than we expected so I ended up sitting on the floor. Haha. The dinner was good which included my favourites: suckling pig and sharks fin :)

College starts on 6th of January. There's another orientation tomorrow to explain our subjects to us plus also to let us know which group we're in. I hope I'm in the same group as some people that I know. This reminds me of my first day at Cempaka and I remember it was terrfying. I'm not good at starting over but I still manage to pull through.
